World tuberculosis day 24th
March, is celebrated throughout the world to commemorate discovery
of TB bacilli by Sir, Dr. Robert Koch.
TB is the most common infectious
disease among third world countries and developing country
like India. It is the duty of all Medical Professionals and
Community people work together for Prevention & control
of TB that, we can achieve theme of this day “I am Stopping
TB”
Tuberculosis is a global emergency,
but can be cured and the spread of disease stopped by RNTCP.
The challenge this world TB day is to spread the awareness
that sticking to the prescribed drug regimen (DOTS) is the
only way to beat this dreaded disease. On this occasion Department
of Community Medicine, Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences,
Raichur has organized several programmes on 24th March 2009.
Inauguration of poster exhibition
on TB done by Dr.Ramaiah, Director of the Institute. Scientific
speeches given on Historical and Social aspects, Clinical,
Diagnostic and Scientific basis of DOTS by HOD Community Medicine
Dr. Ashok Langewar, Dr. Narayanappa DTO, Dr.Shankarappa, Dr.Rajashekar,
Dr.Vijay Bhagat experts, respectively. Posters exhibition
was organized throughout the week for best posters. Large
number of medical students and staff of the Institute were
participated in the Programme Dr. Rahul Kirte was anchored
the Programme.

co-operation with RIMS, API, IMA Raichur CME on changing trends
newer concepts in the field of Cardiology gastro Enterology
